Each person has a quiet space within oneself. Planting these quiet seeds, I take care of them daily even for hours and minutes.
How do I take care of them? When the seeds of greed, hatred
or fear in the mind have just arisen, I realize that it’s a bad thinking,
negative thought, it’s not my own, and it is only a habit originating from the
senses and outside scenes which have gathered into one-sided thoughts and
perceptions. As I notice they’re the bad seeds, they subside gradually, and I
turned my attention to the positive attitude of the mind, such as generosity,
kindness, and calm mind, and so on…
In other way, I don't need to dispel or give up the negative
thoughts; I just listen to them as same as hearing sadness, and after sadness
is a calm and peaceful smile. Have you ever heard the sound of waves, one wave
after another so massively? You can't stop the waves from hitting each other;
no matter how much you scream up or do anything to dispel the waves to their
sounds, to me, looking at it, listening to the pulse of the waves like the
sounds of my heartbeat, I understand that I’m not them (waves) but not
separation from them. Looking at the inner waves of the mind, I notice that
negative thoughts are not me, also there is no increase in awareness of them,
and so delusions are no longer lasting, at this time is a state of emptiness of
mind like a glass of clear water, no ripples.
When I sit still and stay in present, especially in state of
calmness, everything around also becomes quiet. Like the reflection of pure
water, the space of mind is clearer and quieter. This is the time I am
completely free to follow my heart, listen to my inner voice in the silence and
peace most clearly.
